Insist developers make useful demos planned
Brothers In Arms is the most obvious wasted opportunity for a demo as it lasts a measly 20 seconds. Why don't developers realise that this type of restriction will put off far more consumers than win over to buy their game.
Maybe Nokia can implement a clause in their Quality Control process that says a demo must be what it says ... a demonstration of the game with (for example) at least one playable level.
Thanks for the feedback and we totally agree that game trials should provide a good feel for the game experience. We are working with game publishers to try and assure a more consistent and enjoyable trial experience.

Agreed, I can't even begin to tell you how much I dislike trial versions that are limited in this way. How on earth do you decide whether a game is worth purchasing or not in 30 seconds?! I don't get it, I really don't... at least give us a few _minutes_ if you feel that it's too hard to limit the game in any other way.
Nokia, if you _can_ affect your partners in this question then please do so.

I would have thought Nokia would have already had this clause and yes the "Brothers in Arms" demo is exetremely disappionting

Agree, I can't shell out about half of my pocket money just on the basis of a 20 secs demo. (And yes, N-Gage games cost around 40-50% of new PC games in my country)

One of the most important things about a game is being able to try it, it's suprising how many games get good reviews but turn out to be quite bad, it's nice to be able to try it out with a nice demo, something that you can get into, like a full level or mission or even online. Timed demos are rubbish because some people play faster/slower than others, it's nice to try before you buy.

Haven't tried this particular demo, but I've played some similar ones and felt very stupid after. It comes without saying I inmediately decided not to buy the game, because I had felt mistreated by the developer.

Yes, absolutely 100% agree.
A 20 second demo for a game that takes 10 minutes to download and install is just an insult, a slap in the face for potential customers.
Even from a business point of view time-limited demos are silly: Gameloft's best-selling N-Gage game is Asphalt 3 which has a NON-time-limited demo. Nokia's best-seller is Creatures Of The Deep, which has a NON-time-limited demo.
