To use 3D accelerator chip for N-gage Games completed
N series like n95, n82, n93, n95 8Gb soon n96 have 3D chip accelerator for games, tv out... But you are not using... Why??? there is some cool Iphone games using the OpenGL for games and looks like PSP, and the N series With OpenGL 1.1 can do that too... Why you don´t use it???
That would be great because that what everyone wants.
And more Multiplayer games... online and bluetooth!!!
Thanks for the suggestion guys, just to let you know his will be in the next release of the N-Gage SDK so game developers will be able to take full advantage then. As with many of our features it is up to developers to take advantage of these technologies in their games.

roninja are you saying Nokia is planning to use OMAP 3 in their next smartphones?? That would be awesome.
Nokia, please update the OpenGL ES drivers for the N95 (8GB) it's doing not so good in the benchmarks. I want my phone to have the same 3D performance as the N93, I don't care if the battery life is a little less (the cores appear to be underclocked, yielding worse performance than N93).

Here in Portugal the N81 SD costs 199€ and the 8 gb version costs 220€...
The N95 costs 350€ and the 8gb version costs 500€...Far more expensive...
Nokia is following a good plan for now cause not so much people can afford mobiles with 3D chip...But in a near future when the price reduces I'm sure that Nokia will use that technology!!!

For now only game that deserve money from me is system rush and mybe mile high pinball all other bad. I am not giving money for them! I want to left my psp and play console games on my n95. Nokia rotate yourself and give us better games than it is recentlly.

I really support nokia. I like the brand! When I first heard about ngage I though wow! But now when we have trayed games I think bad! Really dissapointing! These games should be 3d accelerated console quallity games and not some poor like java games.

Nokia need to take 3D Hardware acceleration serious, they have access to both PowerVR MBX and SGX through Texas Instruments OMAP 2 and 3 series, Nokia if you are listening now start using them!!! Apple is stealing your thunder and sales!

that game called 7 Days: Salvation its working fine on N95 8GB , N73 , N72 , N70
It only using software based , So yes N-Gage can have this game of quality on NON 3d Accelerators and even better on them

Relax Lex92, this is just how things works - the evolution of gadgets. You'll just have to replace your N81 sometime in the future, big deal? I think not - I doubt that you would wanna hang on to that phone for the rest of your life anyway :)
And I doubt that we'll be seeing games which actually REQUIRES a model that has a 3D accelerator anytime soon, if ever.

Just interested as I know better game require more performance will require better hardware but if we had a roadmap or idea of the plans of Nokia I'd feel more comfortable on the situation

tzer2 is correct.
N96 doesn't have any PowerVR MBX 3D chip like N82, N93 and N95; despite having a TV-out.
Same goes for 6220 Classic which got TV-out, but no 3D chip either.
One thing, though. Now OpenGL ES 1.1 is what's used, but 2.0 has been available for years, and something that phones probably get next year too. So the 3D hardware in the current 3D phones is kinda outdated already.

it will be no change... you don´t have 3D chip.... so why are you crying???

I think, that N81 has cost really mutch too. or are 400€ cheap for you? I must pay my phone myselfe so i must think about, what i need and what not, and i think, that i made the best choice for me, when buying the N81. The other think is, that i now know (thanks to brainimpactrush) that you guys only will get a graphic update,and i can play the same games on my N81 with less graphics.

Uker, that used to be the case, but it no longer is now. Some more recent Nokia models (6220, N96 etc) have got TV Out but no 3D hardware. Nokia's N96 product manager was asked specifically at the launch if it had 3D hardware and he said "no".
